QUALITY VIBE BLAST
Hello Beautiful People!
I’m sitting at my favorite pub where I just hung my last poster for this Saturday’s joyful concert. Before I share more about that, can we just take a moment to appreciate public places like Cato’s Ale House and Open Mind Music that still host community boards? They’re rapidly disappearing or being converted to sterile spaces, which makes it even harder to connect with folks outside social media and other electronic channels. That’s by design I suppose but still…not cool. So how about we make an extra effort to thank the businesses that still believe in hosting a physical space where people trying to connect outside the matrix can pin a card or poster? And if you’re local to East Bay, maybe let me know where the especially welcoming spots are that quality vibe folks patron? I’m building a list I’ll happily share on my website’s new resource page.
Speaking of the website, thanks to help from Production Assistant Via de Jesus, a more complete list of my current projects, past event productions and house concerts are now visible (stay tuned for fun pics and vids), as are testimonials. Granted those date back to when I got shy about it, but they’re still there and rather lovely. Could use some more so if you feel inspired, please email Via a short testimonial of your experience (be it as a performer, patron, collaborator or other capacity) with me and/or events I’ve been part of. If you want it posted anonymously, that’s ok too. Believe it or not I’m not too comfortable with the spotlight either.
Now for some more about this Saturday’s concert at the Ivy Room in Albany, CA. Delighting us will be Dr Leah Taylor / Embodied Groove, The Grease Traps, Tony Glaser and The Party, and Gitkin (featuring Brian J from Pimps of Joytime). This is not one to miss if you’ll be local, especially if you love to dance. Partly because the music will be so groovy but also because it’s the first gathering of the Embodied Groove Meetup group that Leah and I started recently to help people who thrive when dancing to live music match with gatherings they know will be welcoming, facilitated by Leah, and attended by other “birds of a feather”. Pretty proud of this and the lineup overall so please check out more event info here and buy your $18 advance ticket asap!
What’s the next event of note? Thanks for wondering. It’ll be the Montclair Beer, Wine & Music Festival on Satuday, June 15th from 12-6pm in beautiful Montclair Village (Oakland). Check out more free event info here and purchase unlimited tasting tickets here on Eventbrite.
Thanks as always for your time and take care out there!
Winter :)
